The new Oregon State University Marine and Geology Repository (OSU-MGR; www.osu-mgr.org) is getting close to be up and running. Last year, Joe and fellow CEOAS professor Anthony Koppers, led an initiative to expand the OSU-MGR by building a new facility and acquiring the Antarctic Core Collections, formerly housed at Florida State University. The Antarctic Core Collection is now here and it is time to start moving samples out of the old repository. Joe, Ben, Katharine, and Brendan spent parts of the last two days moving the OSU P-mag Lab’s u-channel collection. And wow, there were a lot of them!
It was great to see the new facility almost complete! It is beautiful and will be a wonderful place to visit and work.
